blogs to blog about: downtownfrombehind.

It’s a pretty simple concept really, as the name would suggest Downtownfrombehind is a blog jam-packed full of photo snappies featuring people riding bikes…..wait for it…. from behind.

The clincher is that all the peddlers are total babes who have one wonderful thing in common, they are all living and breathing in New York. That’s why the streets look way cooler than the ones you & I walked down to get to work this morning. Bastards.

Hooray for up-the-bum-no-babies.

blogs to blog about: terry’s diary.

Terry Richardson reminds me of Peanut butter crunchy; totally smooth and a little bit nutty. Well, maybe a lot nutty. But I love me some P&B and I love me some Terry. Known for his celebrity wrap sheet and suggestive photo shoots Richardson is quickly becoming a key player in modern Pop culture.

Quick and super easy to identify, all of Richardson’s images are vivid in colour and high in contrast. He has an unmistakable talent in persuading celebs and friends to pose in ways they might never have considered with anyone else. Join me in reaping the benefits over at Terry’s Diary now.

blogs to blog about: vaughan deadly.

So I want to make out with Vaughan Dead. Not only because he is hilarious or plays guitar in Goons of Doom but also because there is a large part of me that is convinced he would be totally hot….  I have no proof and am too lazy to google him but I just feel like he would be.

On a more concrete level, Vaughan Dead is a senior writer for Monster Children, probably the second best magazine on the shelves at Border’s, and a gifted artist on the technically advanced Microsoft Paint, or so it would seem.

UPDATE: confirmed by Lottie, apaz he is in fact ’a total babe.’

Check out the said artwork here on his blog that consists of him telling you about people he knows. Genius. I especially like the entry below about Kill Pixie, one of Australia’s greatest artistic exports.

blogs to blog about: who is arcade fire?

So apparently people don’t know who Arcade Fire are, causing them to go all bat shit insane because they took out the giant panda at the Grammy’s yesterday. Here’s a tip dickheads, why don’t you move out of that metal shed in the backyard of your parents place otherwise known as Middle America and open your eyes? There is a whole world out there.

Click here if you want to see what I’m talking about. Guaranteed to bring the LOL’s (how gross is LOL?).

blogs to blog about: cloudy rhodes.

My new favourite escape.

blogs to blog about: claudio kirac

I can’t even tell you how I found this blog but god damn am I glad I did. Claudio Kirac’s CV runs longer than the extended version of all three Lord of the Rings and is even more impressive. Seriously hombres, it would probably take less time listing what Kirac hasn’t done rather than what he has.

As lovely as he is clever, Kirac makes a keen living as Art Director/ Photographer with Billabong and Von Zipper and is kind enough to share his wonderfully exciting life in the form of a pictorial adventure on his blog.

Scroll through the pages and you’ll find yourself dreaming of a Californian getaway and home-made waffles because the way he captures each moment is so indescribably familiar that you feel like you are almost there. But alas, you are not.

Take a look for yo’self kids, you won’t be dissapointed. Oh and I found a neat little interview on Pedestrian here too if you want to know more!

blogs to blog about: wooster collective.

So I gotta say podres, watching Exit Through The Gift Shop over the weekend has completely re-invigorated my love of street art. You have no doubt seen it by now but if you haven’t, get to it stat. We already knew that Banksy is one clever little fucker. But who knew the guy was so funny? He had me & my cabana boy in stitches.

‘What does that have with a street in Soho?’ I hear you asking…. Good question podres, good question. Enter Wooster Collective, a blog dedicated to all things paint & brick. Kicking it since 2001, the site has hundreds of amazing shots from all over the globe & makes for some easy lunch time viewing.

What’s the only thing better than a surfer slash skater? A surfer slash skater slash artist. More here.

ash’s top five.

See! I ain’t no liar. And I ain’t no big wig either, but let’s assume for a second that in some circles my opinion actually does count (it doesn’t) and with that in mind, he are my Top Five Blogs of 2010. FYI I thought listing ten was asking way too much from you as readers.

1. Wooooo Magazine’s news blog. Online ramblings and ‘fillers’ by my obsession favourite writer Jason Crombie. There is no reason or rhyming to any of the blog’s content, but that’s what is so effing great about it.

2. Purple DIARY. The official blog of Purple Magazine featuring photography shot by the magazine’s editor and man-about-town Oliver Zahm. If you want to feel depressed about how lame and uninspired your life is then this is the blog for you!

3. Monster Children. The blog portion of this cult-worshiped magazine’s website (too many descriptive words) entails videos, witty remarks and cultural updates that keep me occupado between issues. It’s pretty ‘boysie’ but I am totally into it. Then again, I am also totally into Star Wars and cricket so girls, maybe this one is not for you?

4. Jak & Jil. Or as I like to call it the Cadillac of fashion blogs, this bad boy is photographic genius mixed with people hotter, richer and far more important than you. Shot by fashion royalty Mr. Tommy Ton, this blog is street style on crack. And by crack I mean a lot of money & pricey fabrications.

5. Thought Catalogue. An online magazine containing the ‘thoughts’ of media’s elite with a sharp-tongued little angle to it. This is the blog I visit when I have a few minutes and want to read something actually decent. It’s funny as shit and a force to be reckoned with.
