blogs to blog about: terry’s diary.
Terry Richardson reminds me of Peanut butter crunchy; totally smooth and a little bit nutty. Well, maybe a lot nutty. But I love me some P&B and I love me some Terry. Known for his celebrity wrap sheet and suggestive photo shoots Richardson is quickly becoming a key player in modern Pop culture.
Quick and super easy to identify, all of Richardson’s images are vivid in colour and high in contrast. He has an unmistakable talent in persuading celebs and friends to pose in ways they might never have considered with anyone else. Join me in reaping the benefits over at Terry’s Diary now.

three men & a ghost.
Yet another reason to love Vaughan Dead (like I need it). He has just posted this infamous video from the 1980′s classic Three Men & a Baby. You know, with the GHOST child watching you from behind a curtain? Don’t believe me? Watch it closely around the 0.35 second mark. Creeeeeeeepy.
Ps Tom Sellick aka The Moustache aka Magnum P.I. was such a honey right?
people more interesting than me: joaquin phoenix
Have you seen I’m Still Here yet? You know, that movie directed by Casey Affleck that documents a batshit insane Joaquin Phoenix as he attempts to transition from A-list actor to rap superstar. If you haven’t, you must. It’s so weird slash hilarious slash depressing slash confronting slash genius.
I watched it over the weekend and kind of wish I didn’t know it was a sham…. Yes, as admitted by Affleck in September of last year, the whole documentery is a fake. Bored with the straighty 180′s of Hollywood, Phoenix & Affleck decided it would be a bit of fun to ruffle some feathers with the unravelling of an Oscar nominated actor in his prime.
After watching it I’m convinced of two things; 1. Joaquin Phoenix is the greatest actor of all time. 2. Joaquin Phoenix is actually nuts.
Even if the whole doco and concept was made up, you have to be totally coco bananas to sacrifice your entire career and act insane for TWO WHOLE YEARS. But man does it make for some good viewing.
Take this clip for example, Phoenix in character as crazy ‘JP’ on Letterman. Needless to say, Dave is less than impressed….
crazy pants.
So apparently nothing brings a community together like an A-List star going ‘whoa nelly’ crazy? Yep you guess it, old mate Chaz Sheen. Pretty funny feature on LifeLounge here.
friday.
This week has been crazy. No listen to me, I’m serious. Totally co-co-ba-na-nas. For example, my two love children (roommates) and I each had a horrible nights sleep on Monday night because of this crazy bad energy floating round within our paper thin walls, but then with some help of bunched up sage KAZAM it was gone. Hmm, what else. Oh strangers are being really nice to me & opening their doors (so to speak) in order to help me with my ongoing future ventures. I swear that’s not meant to be in code, I’m just trying to be mysterious ’cos I heard guys like that….. And umm, okay so maybe I was being a tad dramatic five seconds ago when I said coco bananas, but anyway, this week has been weird, let’s leave it at that.
But who cares, it’s Friday! Here’s some happy snappies for you to ride all the way till home time. Taken from one of my ultra fav blogs AmberB and a recent find The Cowboy Geisha.
truth.
New favourite song. You might recognise the voice of Alexander Ebert, lead singer of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zero’s. They are wonderful and so is he.
i’ll try anything once.
Julian Casablancas singing I’ll Try Anything Once (the alternate version of You Only Live Once) live at Coachella 2010.
You may recognise it from the pool scene in Coppola’s Somewhere. Dreamy.
blogs to blog about: claudio kirac
I can’t even tell you how I found this blog but god damn am I glad I did. Claudio Kirac’s CV runs longer than the extended version of all three Lord of the Rings and is even more impressive. Seriously hombres, it would probably take less time listing what Kirac hasn’t done rather than what he has.
As lovely as he is clever, Kirac makes a keen living as Art Director/ Photographer with Billabong and Von Zipper and is kind enough to share his wonderfully exciting life in the form of a pictorial adventure on his blog.
Scroll through the pages and you’ll find yourself dreaming of a Californian getaway and home-made waffles because the way he captures each moment is so indescribably familiar that you feel like you are almost there. But alas, you are not.
Take a look for yo’self kids, you won’t be dissapointed. Oh and I found a neat little interview on Pedestrian here too if you want to know more!
look it.
